My purpose is to help clients work through their conflicts by helping them communicate more effectively. I try to create a relaxed atmosphere so people feel comfortable speaking and listening. I find the more comfortable they are the more willing they are to work on their issues without having to judge or blame the other person. The focus instead is to help them develop more clarity about the issues, share ideas, develop options, and ultimately make decisions that will help them resolve their conflict.
For mediation services and consulting I charge an hourly rate that is paid at the end of each session. I do not charge any retainer fees for mediation services. For training and consultation services I charge a day rate.
I love what I do and I find the work challenging and fascinating. I am fortunate to have found this profession after practicing law. I feel I am far more helpful to people as a mediator than as an an attorney because I would rather help folks figure out what they want than have a third party decide their fate. It's empowering and far less stressful.
