Description of Practice
Tammy is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst CDFA® and mediator. She brings to the table both a BS in Business Administration Accounting and and an MS in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution from Creighton University School of Law Werner Institute. Couples in divorce or individuals considering divorce can benefit greatly from planning and the structure in approaching divorce with the assistance of a CDFA®.
Professional Background
In addition to a Master of Negotiation and Dispute Resolution from Creighton School of Law, and a Master of Liberal Studies from Arizona State University, I bring to the table a B.S. in Accounting and 30 plus years of accounting experience. I believe that this combination allows me to assist in working through the many of the elements in disputes. I also hold a CDFA® certification to assist individuals and couples in creating a structure in analyzing financial aspects of divorce.
My personal belief is that parties are looking for an equitable solution. Equitable does not always mean equal, but fair and acceptable in the minds of the parties in dispute. Creative solutions can often yield the most lasting and accepted resolutions.
I am currently the Secretary for the Arizona Association for Conflict Resolution and was the Online Dispute Resolution Interest Section for ACR. I provide pro bono mediation services for the State of Arizona Civil Rights Division of the Attorney General's Office, and contract negotiation and dispute resolution services. I am also a Family Court Private Mediator on the Superior Court of Arizona in Maricopa County Alternative Dispute Resolution Roster.
Experience
I officially entered the dispute resolution realm in 2013 when I became a mediator for the State of Arizona Office of the Attorney General in the Public Advocacy and Civil Rights Division Conflict Resolution Program as a volunteer mediator. I spent about 30 years in the accounting field working in various capacities as I raised my two children. My financial background and CDFA® bring valuable knowledge base and the ability to provide structure to the divorce process.

Approach
I believe that too many resources are wasted in all the various phases of conflict. I ask clients to make the decision as to if they want a resolution and to understand that their outcome might not be exactly what they want in their perfect world. I also understand that sometimes no resolution is the clients choice and pursuing legal action is what they really want to do. I do believe that we have a choice in how situations turn out.
