Description of Practice
Senior Mediator, Beth Myers, at The RoundTable Group, Inc. is dedicated to providing facilitative dispute resolution services.
A skilled interpersonal communicator, I strive to surface underlying issues, problem solve, and manage conflict while simultaneously seeking opportunities for innovation and consensus building among participants.
Since 2010, I have assisted hundreds of divorcing couples, individuals, and business leaders reach mutually agreed solutions to seemingly intractable differences. My personal goal is to help people avoid costly, high stress and time consuming legal battles or HR processes in favor of self determined outcomes. Of course, when a court interaction is necessary, such as with divorce, my goal is to empower client's to make their own decisions, ideally with the guidance of a mediation friendly attorney, such that they arrive at court with an agreement that will be readily approved by the court.
I bring to mediation a range of experience from F100 business operations and marketing to nearly 20 years as an entrepreneur and small business owner. On a relational note, I started my first business when I was 6 years old;navigated a difficult divorce in MA for nearly 15 years which lead me to pursue over 460 hours of mediation, negotiation, communications and conflict management training. I posses a natural capacity for empathy in the mediation setting. If the participants are willing to work at resolution, I am uniquely qualified to help.

I am a facilitative mediator, flexible and adept at working with the energy in the room. There is no singular approach to mediation or Ombuds services that applies equally well to all scenarios. My goal is to provide what works best for the client's energy and need.
Face to face facilitated dialogue is the preferred approach. However, there are times when one or both participants are uncomfortable meeting in the same room. In that case we will use a 'shuttle negotiation' approach where the mediator, or co-mediators, go back and forth between separate rooms for each person.
In divorce and family matters, a 30 minute free consultation at our office is part of the first meeting. Parties have the option to begin mediating that day.
Business matters and Ombuds services are typically provided at the business' location. Ombuds services typically entail informal coaching, sharing materials and introducing tools specific to the client's needs.
Fees vary with type of service and by state. In MA, divorce mediation is $275.00 per hour. In ME, divorce co-mediation (2 mediators) is $300.00 per hour. Ombuds services, depend on the agreement and number of people involved. Services may be retained for a specific # of hours/week or month, or provided on an as needed basis for 1:1 meetings.
Based in Massachusetts, I also co-mediate with attorney Michael Boyd in Portland, Maine. We have co-mediated complex, multi party scenarios, family business succession planning, and specialize in client-friendly divorce and co-parenting matters.
